Taylor's 1st Birthday!!

I can't believe that my precious little boy is one year old. From the day he was born he has always been the sweetest and snuggliest little boy you could imagine. He is growing so fast. Although he would still prefer to stick his middle fingers in his mouth and snuggle, he is loving to get down and go. This is not my cautious child, however, and when he takes off he is gone. No looking back to see if someone is following him or stopping at the end of the yard and coming back. He loves the water (not really crazy about the sand), loves his brother, loves his bed (he reaches for it like he is begging you to put him in it), loves to walk (as long as you don't let go of his fingers), loves to point and wave, and loves to talk on the phone. He loves to open doors, cabinets, or drawers and take everything out. He can say mama, dada, meme, angie (at least she thinks he does), uh-oh, bye, hello, hi, and outside. We had a birthday party at Nana and Papa's house with the two of them, Bet, Mommy, Daddy, MeMe, Poppy, and Brannon. He had a sailboat cake that his Nana made and his Papa decorated. Too cute. He got a swim-shirt and money from Bet and Mar, a walking/riding lion toy from Nana and Papa, a cookie jar toy, puzzle, and books from MeMe and Poppy, musical instruments, a see and say, and other toys from Mommy, Daddy, and Brannon. Happy 1st Birthday Snuggle Bug! I love you!

Dental Check-Up

Brannon loves to say he has "cabities" but after his first check-up at the dentist I can happily say that he has no "cabities". I took him to work on my day off and he got his teeth cleaned and even got X-rays. He did great and got lots of prizes from the treasure box to show for it. He even got bubble gum for the first time ever (sugar-free of course).

We were all playing outside the other day (my kids and the girls from next door) when Brannon and his friend ran inside. After a few minutes, when they still hadn't returned, I went looking for them. I found them tucked into the covers in my bedroom drinking Capri-Suns. Two peas in a pod. We are sure going to miss our neighbors!

Fun at Jenny's pool

Taylor and MeMe having fun in the pool. Brannon is too busy running behind them to stop for a pic.

Well Brannon stopped but still wouldn't get in the picture. Look at the awesome slide in the background!

It's been a LONG day. Getting S-L-E-E-P-Y during lunch.

I can't take it anymore. I'm out!

David was out of town so I gathered the courage to take the boys to Birmingham by myself for a party for a good friend. This is actually the first time I've taken the boys anywhere by myself. The boys did great on both legs of the trip and I was very grateful! We visited with Jenny, Shawn, Ann, and MeMe (she made a special trip from Jasper to visit and to keep the kids while I went to the party)! We had a wonderful brunch at the hotel (Ross Bridge), played on the playground, and played in the pool. Brannon loved the long twisty slide into the pool and Taylor loved the shallow entrance to the pool that had fountains for splashing. All in all, it was a great weekend for playing and visiting with friends and family!

Family Picnic

Daddy, I want YOUR sandwich.

Don't you think I'm such a big boy?

We went for an outing at the park a couple of weeks ago. It was the MOST beautiful day so far this year! Perfect temp, wind, and skies. We played on the soccer fields, had a picnic, watched some baseball, and played on the playground. A wonderful day!

Easter Day

Why am I the only one squinting? It is way too hard to get a family picture!

Subtleties of language

On the way home from school the other day we had our windows rolled down when we pulled up to a red light. A very loud Harley (is that redundant) went through the intersection and Brannon let out a "Holy crab". (Did I mention that he's three?) I turn back to look at him and he looked so proud that he had a new phrase. I had to turn back around to compose myself because I was about to bust out laughing. I then went into a five minute discussion about why we can say crab but not holy crab and we can say holy but not holy with anything after it and why we can say crab but not crap. In other words I don't think he understood any of what I was saying. Now he goes around saying crabby, crabby, crabby and holy, holy, holy while looking slyly at me to see if he is tip-toeing around the rules enough not to get in trouble.
